Product Manager

The F.J. Westcott Company is seeking a Product Manager to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a goal-driven collaborative team.

We’re searching for a candidate with a unique blend of tech savvy and business skills with a drive to make things happen. You should enjoy spending time with customers in the market to understand their problems to pinpoint innovative solutions for the broader market.

The Product Manager must have an understanding of product development and management functions, as well as solid knowledge of industry practices. The candidate has full product life cycle responsibilities, as well as technical product management, competitive positioning, marketing concepts, and management of related systems for the product platform.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end responsibility for product life-cycle
  • Understand and explain, from a technical perspective, existing and new product functionality
  • Conduct product market research and on-going visits to current/future customers and/or partners to help identify profitable opportunities and trends
  • Manage incoming requests and provide data needed to build new products or enhance existing products
  • Perform research and determine source of any product issues. Work with appropriate resources to ensure timely and accurate resolution
  • Ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution to all product complaints in assigned categories
  • Create and update product documentation used internally and externally to support and sell products
  • Conduct, analyze, and measure beta/pilot programs during product development
  • Lead product training activities for both the customer and internal teams, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
  • Work with manufacturing on new product roll-outs and product enhancement releases
  • Establish reasonable and profitable product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Work with Marketing to create product marketing collateral
  • Ensures compliance with all association and governmental regulations
  • Monitor inventory level on assigned products and provide input as to recommended inventory levels to ensure continued supply
  • Provide sales support on technical issues

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years Product Management experience
  • College degree or high school with technical training and equivalent experience
  • Experience with technical concepts and working with technical staff is preferred.
  • Experience participating in market research related to assigned products and/or platforms
  • Strong, detail-oriented skills for planning and time management
  • Proven project management skills
  • Possess strong problem identification, structuring, and solving skills
  • Communicate effectively, either written or oral, at all organizational levels
  • Self-starter, able to work with little direct supervision
  • Handle multiple projects at once, meeting deadlines
  • Ability to apply analytical processes in researching and resolving issues
  • Skill in understanding customer needs and providing quality customer service
  • Ability to handle conflict well and work efficiently in stressful situations
  • Continually learn and evolve to changing markets, customer demands and supplier changes
  • Interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel, partners and vendors
