Perfect your portrait studio lighting with Stripbank softboxes, which act as the ideal hair or rim light in your lighting setup.
Our softboxes are rated as some of the best in the industry for high-quality components and rugged design. All strip softboxes are equipped with 4 flexible steel rods, protective rod padding, and maximum-efficiency reflective fabric.
The reflective fabrics that line these modifiers not only produce an optimum light output, but also serves as another layer of heat resistance.
A wide 2" layer of velcro allows the front diffusion panels to either be attached flush with the edge of the softbox for a wide lighter spread or to be recessed for use with optional grids.
With the standard inner baffle and outer diffusion panel in place, use as a conventional Stripbank or turn it horizontal where it can act as a main and fill light together. Remove the inner baffle while keeping a front diffusion panel in place and the magic really begins. The output turns directional with a unique asymmetrical feather and three-stop fall off.
Our diffusion panels are constructed with an high-end all-natural unbleached nylon fabric. Unlike processed diffusion fabrics, these diffusers will soften your light source without altering its color temperature.
“With the interior baffle in place, the Asymmetrical Stripbank behaves like a conventional strip. Remove the baffle and the magic really begins. The output is directional but with a unique asymmetrical feather. From contemporary brides to classical executive portraits, this light modifier offers a fresh new way to explore creative lighting.”

“When I need a little more precise modifier the Asymmetrical Stripbank really delivers. Being asymmetrical, they have a wonderful fall off that I like to feather down my subject. This beautiful light together with a more narrow and directional throw allows for some really creative lighting techniques.”

“I remove the front diffusion material to create a light source that is both soft and compellingly crisp. The quality of Westcott's softboxes is absolutely wonderful!”

“Westcott softboxes are built to take it. A great deal of my shooting is done on location. This means setup, breakdown and storage time and time again. My work level can wear out cheaply made gear in a hurry. Westcott softboxes hold up to the rigors and demands of corporate shooting. I trust Westcott to protect my reputation as a reliable shooter. ”
